The Legend of Zelda series has always focused on Link, with many other characters coming and going. Some of the most common characters besides Link are Zelda and Ganondorf, the latter of which plays an antagonistic role. We have no official confirmation of Ganondorf being in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which may leave you wondering how the villain is.
Who is The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom's villain?
There is no official confirmation on who the villain is in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The going theory is that Ganondorf returns to cause trouble and conquer Hyrule, but this is speculation. However, there is some evidence that supports this.
We see in the first trailer a dried and skeletal-looking Gerudo figure. This could be Ganondorf after his defeat in the Breath of Wild. This figure shows what looks to be Calamity and unknown green energy radiating out. We also hear a voice in the second trailer, possibly the acclaimed Matt Mercer, that may be Ganondorf monologuing.
Still, we do not know for sure if this is Ganondorf. Other candidates for Tears of the Kingdom's villains could be Demise, Astor, or a new threat, maybe the Zonai. Despite being lesser-known figures, they can be Link's antagonists in this new adventure. All speculation aside, we are thrilled to learn who is attacking Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and we will update this guide once we know more.
