The 99 Nights in the Forest developers have released a new Update called Decorations. This Update focuses on expanding the cosmetics of the game with more decorating items available to purchase from the Furniture Trader. Along with that, several tools like the Paintbrush Tool and Grid Snapping have been added to improve the customization feature. Here is a guide to the entire Decorations update.
What is new in the Decorations Update?
In the Decorations Update, the developers have added 60 new furniture to the base game. All of these are available to purchase from the Furniture Trader, who usually appears first around Day 3 or 4. Before his arrival, you will receive a server-wide notification saying "The Furniture Trader is wandering through the forest today". Once you get this, check the map for an NPC icon wearing brown clothes and one-eyed glasses. If you find one, speak with him to buy furniture.

Among the newly added furniture, the biggest highlight is the writable items, such as the writable sign wall-mounted, which enables players to write any text on the wall and customize their base. You can even add funny or quirky quotes to troll your friends or randoms.
Remember, not all the newly added 60 Furniture items are available to purchase directly; instead, he has a few base stocks like Wooden Chair, Wooden Picket Fence, Grey Brick Bench, etc., while rare items are rotated based on days.
What is the Paint Tool in 99 Nights in the Forest?

The Paint Tool is a newly added utility item that is found in the Fishing Shack/Hut. You can use this item to change the color of any existing cosmetic item. Simply equip the brush and click on any other cosmetic item to find the Recolor option on the right, which has an extensive palette of colors.
