CZN (Chaos Zero Nightmare) is a very unique gacha game, with roguelite/deckbuilding elements, and an insane amount of strategy needed not just for your team setup, but for every card you play. Which characters you decide to use and pull for will make a huge impact on your progression speed, and that's even more true if you are a F2P player. In our Chaos Zero Nightmare tier list below, we ranked all characters in CZN based on their overall strength and difficulty. So, let's dive into the rankings and explain why we ranked each character the way we did.
IMPORTANT: This tier list is based on and updated with the latest CBT data, including Haru, which will be the first limited banner unit. Haru data is from the Korean version of the game. We will continue to update the tier list until it's as accurate and detailed as possible.
Chaos Zero Nightmare Characters Tier List

S Tier: The best overall characters with the potential to be broken, no matter what other characters you are using.
A Tier: Very good characters that don't need a lot of support and will perform really well with a proper build.
B Tier: Characters that are just decent or that can be as good or even better than S/A-tier ones, but require some other characters on the team or very precise play.
In the tier list above, you can see our ranking of all characters in Chaos Zero Nightmare as well as what each tier means. Generally, all characters are strong in their own way, and there are only a few that you can consider truly broken. What matters most is how you use them and how much misplaying will cost you. Consider the S/A-tier characters as those that are fairly easy to use and that perform really well in most cases. However, B-tier characters can also be extremely good, but aren't as easy or as reliable as the higher-tier ones.
S Tier Characters
Character | Details & Ranking Summary |
---|---|
![]() Khalipe | 5-Star Instinct Vanguard Tank DPS AoE High-Cost Khalipe is a tank/bruiser with excellent AoE damage and tankiness. She relies on using cards with ≥2 cost to proc her Vulture Ejection and deal consistent AoE damage, and it works as long as you can keep dishing out those high-cost cards. Also, she is insanely reliable and self-sufficient as a tank/AoE DPS because her cards easily proc each other's effects. If your deck is missing AoE/frontline, you can just drop her in without a thought. |
![]() Mika | 4-Star Justice Controller Description: TBA |
![]() Mei Lin | 5-Star Passion Striker Description: TBA |
![]() Hugo | 5-Star Order Hunter DPS Single-target Low-Cost Extra Attack Haste Hugo is a single-target DPS who deals massive damage with extra attacks from his Commence the Hunt passive. He is especially strong when paired with Nia, as she can buff the extra attack damage with her Soul Rip card. With proper support, he is one of the best main DPSs in CZN, and he isn't half-bad as a secondary DPS either, as he can stack Commence the Hunt when allies use Enhance/Skill cards. |

![]() Luke | 5-Star Order Hunter DPS Single-target Low-Cost Bullet Luke is a single-target DPS who relies on high Critical Chance to generate Bullet Cards (with Rapid Fire), and then uses those Bullet Cards, as well as other cards that buff/synergize with them, to deal insane damage. He is one of the best single-target DPSs in CZN, but to pop off, he needs a lot of Critical Chance to take advantage of Rapid Fire's effect. Also, he pairs extremely well with Lucas, an any other Bullet-generating character. |
