How to get the Dave Rod in Fisch

Dave is a secret rod in Fisch that players can obtain from the Dave NPC on the Arch by finishing a set of quests. While some of the quests are easy, players get confused about the Boulder quest, as there is literally no clue regarding it except the word Boulder uttered by the NPC. So, if you are wondering what this quest is all about or how to get the Dave Rod, here is a detailed guide.

The Dave NPC is on top of the Arch POI in Fisch at GPS X: 1100, Y: 133, Z: -1200. Once at the location, start climbing from the right side of the Arch to reach the top more easily. Otherwise, you will require the Velocity or Gravity coil to summit. At the top, you can find Dave right at the center of the semicircular Arch ring. Interact with him to start the quest.

All Dave Rod Quests and Requirements

The Dave Rod requires you to finish three sets of quests. Dave offers each of these quests one after the other as you complete the previous one.

Quest 1: Get a Boulder

For the first one, you need to get a Boulder. The Boulder is a Divine Secret fish that is part of the Keeper's Altar Bestiary. Travel straight to the Statue of Sovereignty at (20, 160, -1040) and enter the Mines, where you can start fishing for it. This will be a little challenging, as the item does not have any preferred bait, weather, season, or time requirements. I suggest using Cinder Block Rod, Onirifalx Rod, Astraeus Serenade Rod, Runious Oath Rod, or Wind Elemental Rod to increase your chance of getting. Also, there is no mutation requirement, and only the base version is needed.

Quest 2: Get x250 Rock

The next one requires you to get 250 Rocks. The Rock is a regionless Trash rarity item that can be caught anywhere on the map. Since we have to catch a lot of rocks, I recommend traveling to Sunstone Island, Mineshaft, or Sanctum to maximize your returns. These areas usually have better returns when you are trying to catch regionless items, especially trash-tier ones. Also, equip a rod with negative luck, like the Training Rod, and use the Magnet Bait to get Rocks quickly. Still, it will take a lot of time to catch 250 Rocks. So, be patient until you accumulate the desired amount.

Quest 3: Give x1 Rock

After finishing the previous one, Dave will ask you to give one more Rock. Yes, I know this sounds weird and stupid. But get him one more Rock by fishing, and he will be satisfied, giving you the Dave Rod in Fisch.

Dave Rod Stats & Showcase

Below, you can find details about the Dave Rod in Fisch.

  • Lure Speed: +21%
  • Luck: +21%
  • Control: 0.7
  • Resilience: −21%
  • Max Kg: 21 kg
  • Progress Speed: −51%

Dave's stats are among the worst in the entire game. The main reason for getting this rod is to fish trash-tier items like Rock using Magnet Bait. Other than that, it is a pretty useless rod and not fit for anything.

Fisch Dave Rod FAQs

Yes, the Dave NPC always remains on the Archa and is bound to any season or weather requirements, like other Secret Rod NPCs like Minish.

What is the best stat of Dave Rod?

The Control value of 0.7 is the best stat of Dave Rod as the White bar is almost complete and requires little to no effort to move while fishing.
