Apparently, keeping your Pals busy chopping wood, mining rocks, manufacturing questionable amounts of ammunition, and fighting enormous creatures from the comfort of your PC wasn't enough. Palworld is officially heading to mobile with Palworld Online, a new MMORPG currently in development at Garena.
Before you start wondering how someone managed to squeeze the entire original Palworld onto a phone, there's an important distinction here: Palworld Online isn't simply a mobile port. Instead, Garena is developing and publishing a new game based on Pocketpair's hugely successful creature-collecting survival IP, complete with its own story content and a much bigger focus on playing alongside other people.
Palworld Online Turns Palworld Into a Mobile MMO
If you've played the original Palworld, much of the basic formula should sound familiar. You'll explore an open world, capture and raise Pals, discover new regions, gather resources, build bases, and presumably spend far more time organizing storage boxes than you'd ever admit publicly. So, what's the difference, then? In a single word: scale.
Palworld Online is being designed around what Garena describes as a seamless, interconnected MMO world where players can encounter each other naturally, form groups, and progress together. That includes building shared settlements, tackling PvE encounters, fighting open-world bosses, hunting rare Pals, and taking part in PvP activities.
You don't necessarily have to spend every waking moment fighting something, either. Players will be able to visit other people's bases and work together on settlements, with Pals once again available to automate production and defend your home. So yes, Palworld's proud tradition of convincing cute creatures to operate industrial machinery appears to be alive and well.
It's More Than Palworld With Touch Controls
Garena is also creating an original narrative setting for Palworld Online rather than simply recreating the existing game beat-for-beat. The mobile MMO will feature its own story and lore alongside exclusive side stories, although the developer hasn't revealed much about the actual plot yet.
The studio says it wants to preserve the exploration, freedom, and survival elements that made Palworld popular while adapting them specifically for mobile devices.
That means a redesigned touch-friendly interface and optional one-tap controls for some of the more management-heavy parts of the game. Building, relocating structures, planning bases, and deploying Pals are all being streamlined so that managing your little industrial empire doesn't require twelve fingers and the hand dexterity of a concert pianist.
Garena also says the game is being optimized to run across a wide range of smartphone specifications, which should be especially important for something promising a seamless open world populated by players, settlements, bosses, and dozens of wandering creatures.
When Does Palworld Online Release?
For now, Palworld Online is scheduled to launch sometime in 2026, but Garena hasn't announced an exact release date.
The game is being developed under an official license from Pocketpair, with Garena handling both development and publishing. Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe said the two companies are working together on bringing a new Palworld experience to mobile players worldwide.
There are still plenty of unanswered questions, including how monetization will work, how large the multiplayer population of each world will be, whether progression resembles the original Palworld, and exactly how much of Pocketpair's existing Pal roster will make the jump to mobile.
Still, the concept makes a surprising amount of sense. Palworld's combination of creature collecting, survival, crafting, automation, base building, and multiplayer already feels suspiciously compatible with the kind of game people open for five minutes and somehow find themselves playing an hour later.
Now you'll just be able to do it while waiting for the bus.
