Few party games are as popular as Mario Party, and Super Mario Party was the first entry in the franchise on the Switch, one that disappointed many fans. Nintendo has concocted Mario Party Superstars to remedy this, collecting the most beloved minigames and maps from previous entries in the series.
Super Mario Party compiles some of the most popular maps, minigames, and features from the series history. This includes:
- 100 remastered minigames from across the franchise catalog. These all support
- 5 classic boards from the Nintendo 64 games. The following boards have been unvieled:
- Peach's Birthday Cake (Mario Party)
- Space Land (Mario Party 2)
- Franchise favorite characters will also be playable, including:
- Mario
- Luigi
- Peach
- Yoshi
- Birdo
- Donkey Kong
- Wario
- Waluigi
- Rosalina

Long-awaited features are also included in the most recent Mario Party entry:
- Online play for each of the game's modes.
- Matchmaking for online games.
- Saving progress mid-game in friend games.
- Expressive stickers for use during board game segments.
