Inscryption tasks the player with surviving the dark horror of Leshy's cabin and card game. To do so, they will need to collect cards, solve puzzles, and develop the best strategies if they have any hopes of defeating their dark captor.
One tool the player can acquire is the dagger. Initially, the player can see this dagger held by the Squirrel statue on the far side of the cabin by the door. They are unable to interact with it, though, and must complete another puzzle first.
On the pedestal with the Squirrel statue is an empty slot for another statue. Players may notice a Wolf Statue within a cage. They will need to get this Caged Wolf to get the dagger. Once players have acquired the Wolf Statue, they can place it in the empty slot and free the dagger from the Squirrel's grip.
This will add the dagger to the player's usable items. They can only use it once per run, however, so they need to plan accordingly. This item is a necessary part if the player wants to escape. When they use the dagger, the player character will carve out their eye and add it to Leshy's side of the scale, lowering it four points.
After using the dagger and winning that match, Leshy will offer the player a new eye. They will need to select the glowing blue with sigils on it. This is essential to escaping and necessary for another puzzle.
