How to change the Difficulty in Age of Empires IV

While some players experience the game for its historical campaign storyline, many look for a competitive edge. Fortunately, you can tweak and change the difficulty settings in the game, matching their competitive requirements. To change the difficulty settings in Age of Empires IV, you have to select a preferred difficulty option from the game settings.

Available Difficulty Settings

Before selecting the preferred settings of your choice, you have to know all the difficulty settings available in the game.

• Story Mode - For those looking to experience the historical context of Age of Empires without much of a challenge
• Easy Mode - For those new to real-time strategy or looking for a light challenge
• Intermediate Mode - For those familiar with real-time strategy who seek a fari and strategic challenge
• Hard Mode - For veterans of real-time strategy who are looking for a real challenge

How to Change Difficulty Settings

To change the difficulty settings, follow the steps below.

• Open the game and press the Settings button present on the bottom-right corner of the screen.
• Now, navigate to the Game settings and select the difficulty option of your choice from the Campaign Difficulty drop-down box. 

Remember, you can also change the difficulty option each time you begin a particular mission. It is present near the Play button.
