After the mission Ryder, tattoo parlors are open for business. The players need only enter a tattoo parlor and then walk into the red circle.

The cost of tattoos varies, with some costing CJ as little as $36 and others as much as $200. Tattoos will be able to be applied to CJ’s:

  • Upper back
  • Lower back
  • Left Shoulder
  • Right Shoulder
  • Right Chest
  • Left Chest
  • Right Forearm
  • Left Forearm

In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, tattoos boost respect among fellow Grove Street Families members similar to haircuts. Additionally, tattoos increase sex appeal among girlfriends. The game features four tattoo parlors. There are different tattoos at each location.

Players who wear tops over their tattoos will not be able to see their tattoos. Walking around shirtless is the best way to display their skills among many players. Nevertheless, this does not increase respect or sex appeal since the game always registers the tattoo as already obtained by the player.
