Minecraft Caves and Cliffs: Part II releases November 30, Bundles and Archeology postponed

An earlier than expected release, but some disappointing delays.

The highly anticipated Caves & Cliffs: Part II for Minecraft finally has a release date. Expected by the middle of December, the Caves & Cliffs second half surprised Minecraft players with a November 30 release date.

Minecraft Caves & Cliffs: Part I launched earlier this year on June 8, and was focused on adding new items and entities. Part II includes an overhaul much more focused on world generation, biomes, and specifically better caves and mountains.

While players rejoice the earlier-than-expected release date, there is also a downside. Three of the features originally planned for Caves & Cliffs: Part II have been delayed. The Caves & Cliffs: Part II update will not include the following:

  • Archeology. All features of the Archeology system have been delayed.
  • Goat Horns. This item would’ve been a drop from Goats charging into solid blocks.
  • Bundles. The item we're the saddest to see delayed in the Bundle. It would have been a way to hold 6 items or stacks of items in a single inventory slot.

Keep in mind that these featured have not been canceled, they will just be moved out to a future update for the game.

Minecraft Caves & Cliffs: Part II will be available on all platforms on November 30.
