Best Nature for Misdreavus and Mismagius in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

One great Ghost-type.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's release allows players to experience the Sinnoh region with modernized graphics and compile a team of the very best Pokémon they can find. One stellar option for any trainer's team is Misdrevus, and its evolution, Mismagius. With the proper nature, these Pokémon can be an unparalleled threat on the battlefield.

  • Timid (+Speed, -Attack)
  • Modest (+Special Attack, -Attack)

Misdreavus and Mismagius are excellent Special Attack Pokémon, meaning the loss to the Physical Attack they sacrifice in both Timid and Modest Natures are inconsequential.

While Modest Nature boosts Misdreavus and Mismagius's already impeccable Special Attack, we recommend the Timid Nature. Selecting the Timid Nature over Modest will ensure that these Ghost-types strike first in battle. Because Misdreavus and Mismagius don't have incredible HP or Defense, attacking first is critical. Misdreavus and Mismagius have a strong enough Special Attack that they'll crush opponents even without Modest Nature.

Head over to Smogon's Mismagius page for information on what move sets work best competitively for this Pokémon.
