Cresselia is a Psychic-type legendary Pokémon native to the Sinnoh region. Her extremely bulky build, list of recovery moves, and Levitate ability make her one of the best defensive Pokémon in the game. Here’s how to get Cresselia in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Cresselia can first be spotted on Fullmoon Island after you’ve received the National Pokédex. You can ride a boat to it from Canalave City. Much like Heatran’s miniquest, there are a few things you have to do to capture Cresselia
First, to trigger the Cresselia event, enter Sailor Eldritch’s House near the harbor in Canalave City. There, you will find Eldritch’s child trapped in a nightmare. Speak with him and his mother to learn of a brief story.
Venture out and speak with Eldritch (he’s the same sailor that takes you to Iron Island for the Riolu quest). He’ll tell you that a Lunar Feather is the only way to wake him up. Eldritch will then sail you to Fullmoon Island to retrieve one.
In the forest of Fullmoon Island, you meet Cresselia for the first time. She will leave immediately but not before dropping a Lunar Feather. Go back to Eldritch, receive his thanks, and he’ll take you back to Canalave City. After this point, Cresselia can be stumbled upon in the wild. However, her location always changes whenever you enter a new area, city, or town.
If you don’t have the PokéRadar App yet, speak to the President of the Pokétch company in Jubilife City. He will give it to you. The PokéRadar shows you where Cresselia is at the moment.

To encounter Cresselia quickly, we recommend flying to Jubilife City. Repeatedly enter and exit its South end (Route 202) until Cresselia appears on Route 202 on the PokéRadar. Once she does, just run into the first patch of tall grass in the area and you’ll encounter Cresselia.
And that’s it! Just remember that Cresselia runs away after a few (if not the first) turn, much like Mesprit, so either take a Pokemon with a Shadow Tag ability with you or put Cresselia to sleep. You can also throw the Master Ball Cyrus gives you earlier in the game during the first turn.
