Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 has commenced, and Epic Games has finally added the slide mechanic to the game. Fans have been requesting that the developers add slide to Fortnite for ages, as it has been fully implemented for a long time in other popular battle royales.
To use the slide mechanic, PC players simply have to hold the left Ctrl key while running. To exit the slide, release the Ctrl button, or press Space to combine it with a jump. For console players, simply click in on the Right Thumbstick (R3 on PlayStation) to successfully perform a slide.
Try your best to slide across the map, especially on steep hills and inclined terrain. Players can also aim and shoot while sliding, which makes this mechanic incredibly useful in a variety of circumstances.
Sliding from a high altitude will inevitably result in fall damage. The sliding technique is fairly easy to execute, and once you master it, you can use it decisively to peek corners and escape from the line of fire.
