Monster Hunter Rise brings a variety of foes, both new and old, for players to face. Learning the strengths and weaknesses of each monster is key to surviving in the harsh Monster Hunter world, even with early game foes like the Great Izuchi. The main weakness of the Great Izuchi is thunder, so if you have a weapon with this element, it is preferred. Water, fire, and ice are all acceptable secondary options. Remember that these elements won't deal as much damage as thunder does. Avoid using the dragon element, as the Great Izuchi is resistant to this element type.

Great Izuchi Location Weakness
If you are not wielding an elemental weapon, you want to attack places where you deal extra damage. These places on a monster differentiate depending on the weapon type you use—Cutting, Impact, or Shot.

Great Izuchi Resistances and Ailments
The following ailments are incredibly effective when facing the Great Izuchi—Poison, Paralysis, Sleep, and Exhaust. Blast, Thunderblight, and Stun are also effective but not as impactful as the set mentioned earlier of ailments.
The Great Izuchi is resistant to Fireblight, Waterblight, and Iceblight.
Great Izuchi Drop Rates - Carves, Capturing & Breaking
Depending on your quest, you can get different rewards to forge armor and weapons, but each has a drop rate percentage, ultimately RNG. It is pure luck what you receive.
- There are multiple ways of gaining items
- You can carving three times once the monster is dead.
- You can capture the monster instead of killing it.
- Or carving the broken appendage of said monster.
- From looting the drops from the monster
- After successfully compleing your quest
Most monsters in Monster Hunter Rise have breakable parts that shatter or fall off when enough they take enough damage, and the same is true for the Great Izuchi.
