Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of Pokémon in Pokémon Go that have modified looks. They are called shiny because they generally add a slight sheen, making them stand out more than the normal versions. For Litleo and Pyroar, their shiny versions add a yellowish hint to their fur.
Shiny Rates
Apart from the Pokémon that don't have shiny versions in the game, every Pokémon has a base shiny rate that tells you how often you'll see its shiny version. Litleo is a standard Pokémon Go and doesn't have a boost to its shiny rate. It follows the standard shiny rate of 1 in 500 (about 0.20 percent). So, for every 500 Litleo you catch, you'll probably only get one shiny version.
How to Get
Seeing a Shiny Pyroar is extremely rare because their normal versions are rare encounters already. The best way to get one is to get a Shiny Litleo and evolve it.
There is no way to force a Shiny version of a Pokémon to appear. Instead, you must simply play the game and hope to run into one. However, players can use a few tricks to make it easier to get one.
- Play during events that feature Litleo. Litleo is the featured Pokémon for the weekly Spotlight Hour on Feb. 1, 2022. The Spotlight Hour is hosted every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm. The Spotlight Hour does not increase the shiny rate for Litleo, but it increases the amount of encounters you have with it in the wild. More Litleo encounters means more chances for one of them to be shiny.
- Find Litleo Nests. Similar to Spotlight Hours, Nests don't increase the odds of finding a Shiny Litleo, and instead just increase the number of encounters. Use The Silph Road's Nest Atlas to find a Litleo nest near your location.
