Fortnite The Return Mission List – Challenges, Rewards, Guide

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Our Fortnite The Return Mission Guide walks you through the list of challenges you'll need to complete to earn the rewards for this mission. Daily challenges are a thing of the past, and these weekly Urgent Missions have replaced them! If you complete at least three of the challenges, you'll gain yourself a loading screen that contains a clue to a secret battle star. Completing all of the challenges nets you a lot of season experience, as well as stars towards your Season 10 Battle Pass.

With these weekly missions, you need to complete them the week they go live because once the time is up they are gone! This mission is set to go live on September 5th, 2019 and will be unavailable on September 12th, 2019.

The Return Challenges List

A new challenge is being unlocked once a day, but we've got a look at the full list of them due to leaks. These are subject to possible change once they go live!

  • Sniper Rifle Eliminations (1)
  • Outlast opponents in Solo or Duos mode (150)
  • Deal damage with Scoped weapons to opponents (500)
  • Search Ammo Boxes at Fatal Fields or Lonely Lodge (7)
  • Use different throwable items in a single match (2)
  • Land on top of a Floating Island and a Meteor (2)
  • Visit Loot Lake and Sunny Steps in the same match (2)

Rewards

Rewards are not specific to any challenge, you are given one each time you complete an additional challenge.

  1. 10x Battle Stars
  2. 500 Season XP
  3. The Return Loading Screen
  4. 10x Battle Stars
  5. 1,000 Season XP
  6. 10x Battle Stars
  7. 2,000 Season XP

There's a hidden location listed on the loading screen you earn, so check out this guide for more information!

The Return Mission Guide

The challenges are fairly easily to complete, and you can always do them in Team Rumble if you feel like they might be difficult. You can also use Party Assist with any of these challenges which should help you complete the difficult ones.

Sniper Rifle Eliminations (1)

I would do this in Team Rumble, it's easier to find a Sniper Rifle and you can pretty much guarantee yourself getting an elimination if you do. If you have trouble finding one, look for a Supply Drop where higher tier weaponry can drop.

Outlast opponents in Solo or Duos mode (150)

You can just complete this one passively by playing normal games of battle royale, or you can jump into a game and hide out for a while and get it done in a couple of games.

Deal damage with Scoped weapons to opponents (500)

If you wait for this to unlock, you might be able to complete it while doing your Sniper Rifle Elimination challenge. Otherwise, the Scoped Assault Rifle in Team Rumble is an easy way to rack up some damage.

Search Ammo Boxes at Fatal Fields or Lonely Lodge (7)

I personally like Fatal Fields a bit better, but either spot is going to be fine. Do this in Team Rumble because the spawns will be more reliable and you won't be under pressure. You can also likely get the area to yourself.

Use different throwable items in a single match (2)

You'll have to find Grenades, Stink Bombs, Shockwave Grenades, or the Junk Rift. Toss a couple of these in any game and you'll complete the challenge.

Land on top of a Floating Island and a Meteor (2)

The prophecy of the leaked loading screen has come true and the floating island has appeared! This thing moves around the map slowly, so check for where it is located because it won't always be in the same spot. So, land on the Meteor that is pretty hard to miss and then land on the Floating Island. You don't have to do these in the same match.

Visit Loot Lake and Sunny Steps in the same match (2)

There's a couple of ways you could go about your travel plans. You could go to Loot Lake and fly right into the big rift in the center of the area and get a big boost to travel over to Sunny Steps. Perhaps a better option, however, is to hit up Sunny Steps and then go north west to the Expedition Outpost where there's a few possible spawns of Driftboards. Grab one of those and then travel over to Loot Lake.

Hidden Battle Star

Once you've completed three challenges in the week, you'll receive The Return loading screen. This is depicting likely the return of Kevin the Cube and the floating islands that accompanied that season of the battle pass. Check out all of the other past battle star locations right here.

This location is in Fatal Fields, which is apparently going to get torn up by a floating island and Kevin the Cube!

This is right on the dock in the lake at Fatal Fields!
