How to defeat Starscourge Radahn in Elden Ring

There are some very challenging boss fights in Elden Ring, and with over 80 bosses in total, players are sure to encounter a few that seem impossible to beat. Starscourge Radahn is an optional boss in the game, but the rewards for his defeat are well worth the trouble. He is also one of the most difficult and unique bosses in Elden Ring, so players shouldn't miss this battle in their playthrough.

How to beat Radahn in Elden Ring - Starscourge Radahn Boss Fight Strategy

Starscourge Radahn has two phases to his battle. It will take place in a massive arena and is so big that it is one of the only boss battles that allows the use of Torrent during the fight. The first phase will consist of mostly ranged attacks by Radahn. For this phase, players really only need to focus on making their way across the huge open area to Radahn while also dodging his projectiles. Right at the entrance, players will also be able to summon helpful NPC allies that will aid them in this fight. This is something players should not miss, as the NPCs can take a lot of the focus off of the player.

Phase two has a clear beginning, as once Radahn reaches a certain health percentage, he will launch into the sky, returning as a blazing fireball and pounding the ground. This should be avoided at all costs, as one hit from his descent can kill the player. During this phase, Radahn has a few AoE and ranged attacks that he will employ. Players should be sure to avoid these.

The best overall strategy that players can stick to is emphasize mobility. Many of Radahn's attacks can come at players extremely fast. Using Torrent to avoid some of the more deadly hits can save a lot of HP in battle, especially toward the beginning. Because Radahn is very quick and powerful, patience is even more important in this boss battle than in some of the others.

Where is Starscourge Radahn located?

Starscourge Radahn is located in Caelid, the region to the east of the starting area of Limgrave. He can be found in the castle on the southeastern coast of the region. Players will need to enter the castle and initiate the boss battle before continuing to the arena.

What do you get for defeating Starscourge Radahn?

By defeating Radahn, players will gain access to his Great Rune. They can also visit the Maiden in the Roundtable Hold to redeem his remembrance and obtain the Starscourge Greatsword. Radahn's outfit will also be available for purchase at the Maiden after he has been defeated. Radahn's death will open the entrance to Nokron, Eternal City, as well. Here, players can find some very powerful loot and Spirit Ashes.
