Nintendo games are notorious for integrating co-op experiences, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land is yet another brilliant example. While players will not unlock the ability to play co-op with their friends or family until they complete the tutorial area, upon reaching Waddle Dee Village and saving Elfilin and the Waddle Dees, they will gain access to Waddle Dee a playable character for co-op.
How to start co-op?
Starting your co-op experience in Kirby and the Forgotten Land is relatively simple once you get to the abovementioned point. All you have to do is follow these steps:
- Upon entering a level, press the + button on the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con
- Navigate the menu and choose the Play Co-Op option
- Connect a secondary controller, and start playing.

How many players can play?
While the game does support multiplayer, this does not include online co-op play. This means that players can only enjoy the game with another person on the same Nintendo Switch console. Additionally, co-op mode only supports two players, Kirby and Waddle Dee.
