What is the Catch Cup in Pokémon Go?

There's a new Cup in the game!

Pokémon Go has added a new Cup to the Battle League. The Catch Cup gives players a few new requirements to abide by, and it is a very different Cup from others that have been added to the game. This new Cup will be around until April 5, 2022, so players should be sure to try it before it goes away.

What are the rules of the Catch Cup?

There are a few rules in the Catch Cup that make it pretty different from the normal Battle League in Pokémon Go. Players can find the rules of the Catch Cup listed below.

  • Pokémon participating in Catch Cup battles must have been caught between March 29 and April 5 to be allowed in the event.
  • Pokémon need to be below 1,500 CP to enter the Catch Cup.
  • Players cannot use Mythical Pokémon in the Catch Cup, even if they meet the two other requirements.

While this Cup may not be for all players, it is nice to see a new and unique entry into the Battle League. This is a way for players to challenge themselves to fight with new and possibly unfamiliar Pokémon to test their skills in battle.
