Elden Ring has perhaps one the most extensive open-world playgrounds of 2022, making it an essential point of interest for all those who fall under the speedrunning banner. However, with the sheer amount bosses, dungeons, and catacombs the world houses, it does make for a much tougher journey than your run-of-the-mill speedrun.
Elden Ring is broken down into two options: Any%, which lets you complete the game in any way you see fit, and All Remembrances, which sees you completing 15 of the toughest bosses and collecting their Consumables.

Speedrunning Options
What is Any% Speedrun in Elden Ring?
Any% means you can complete the game without having to take on any additional objectives. By powering through the bulk of the main story and discarding any optional tasks, it means you can maximize your chances of getting a faster time.
As it is an Any% strategy, using glitches is often encouraged. Many top-shelf speedrunners have used this method to beat Elden Ring in under ten minutes, though it does involve having to use the Zip Glitch, a bug that lets you bypass huge chunks of the game world.
If used correctly, a Zip Glitch can bite off around 90-percent of the game, and can even put you in Crumbling Farum Azula, a late-game area that will see you pushing toward the final boss, Leyndell, Ashen Capital.
All Remembrances
Completing the All Remembrances method, as with any speedrun that involves beating all main bosses, does take a lot longer. As there are 15 Remembrances to acquire, you'll have to obtain the right tools as early as possible, as well as keep accidental glitches to a bare minimum.

Best Weapon for Speedrunning Elden Ring
Taking on either of the speedrun challenges will require a powerful weapon, which will be necessary as early as possible to help whittle down your overall playtime.
A Legendary weapon that many speedrunners opt for is The Sword of Night and Flame, which can be obtained in the Caria Manor by unlocking a hidden chest on the east side of the estate. As a weapon that can be found fairly early on in the game, as well as something that has all the abilities to defeat even the toughest foes, it is a strong choice for runners.
