Dorfromantik Best Strategies for getting High Scores

There are a couple of mechanics and tips you need to know if you want to get a high score in Dorfromantik. We have compiled our list of strategies to get high scores in Dorfromantik below.

Placing Perfect Tiles

Perfect Tiles are an excellent way to increase your score. Placing one requires that all six edges of a tile match the adjacent tiles surrounding it and will reward you with 60 points. You can quickly rack up many points if you can play many of these in succession.

That being said, while you should strive to have Perfect Tiles as often as possible, don't let this become your main focus. Sometimes it is better to let a Perfect Tile slip away than waste numerous tiles and eventually run out of options altogether.

Completing and Failing Quests

You should aim to complete as many quests as possible, especially in the early game. These are not only a great source of points but also how you will primarily get more tiles to refill your stacks. So make sure you are paying attention to what kind of quests you have, and don't let too many fill your board at one time.

But, sometimes, you may need to fail quests purposefully. This should be done when it would take too many tiles to do so or if it would ruin your surrounding tile placements. Failing quests does not penalize you, and quests will become harder as you progress further.

Play Slowly and Carefully

There is no time limit in Dorfromantik, so you have all the time in the world. Scan your board and look for the optimal place to put your tiles. Sometimes you may find a tile that works with where you are looking, but it could potentially mess up the tiles around it.

You can easily have a massive board that takes several scrolls to cross when you get into the late game. Sometimes it can be beneficial to check your board multiple times before placing a tile. And always remember that you can pause the game and step away if you need to clear your head.

Tile Placement is Key

Tile placement is the most important thing to remember, so you should learn all the different tiles. The most problematic tiles are rivers and tracks, as they have specific requirements. We recommend keeping these two tile types separate and off to the side of your board if possible. Don't be afraid to space out your rivers and tracks until you get better-fitting pieces.

Another thing to avoid with tile placement is not leaving open spots between your tiles with difficult edges to match. Leaving three or more types to match will make it harder to place a tile in that spot. Ultimately, you will have moments where you cannot play a tile optimally. You will need to pick the least bad option in moments like these and move on.

Even with these tips, you will likely need to play several games to learn the ins and outs of the mechanics and tiles in Dorfromantik. Take your time, keep at it, and before you know it, you will have a high score worthy of bragging about.
