Best sword type for Chambara in Nintendo Switch Sports

Strike hard and true.

Nintendo Switch Sports offers six different sports to choose from, including Chambara. When starting a match in Chambara, you can choose between three sword types. This may leave you wondering what the best sword type in Chambara is.

We recommend the Sword as the best sword type in Chambara in Nintendo Switch Sports. It is basic but reliable and will perform the same. The Charge Sword and Twin Swords have additional features, but we feel that they aren't enough to match the superior simplicity of the Sword.

1. Sword

The Sword is the standard sword available and has no additional features. While it is basic, it has the strongest strike of all three types. This means you will have consistent knockback with every swing. While it doesn't have any fancy abilities, it is reliable.

2. Twin Swords

The Twin Swords have the gimmick of being two weapons. This means you can block and swing with both hands. But you can only block and swing with one sword at a time. Over time, you have a meter that allows you to perform a powerful Spin Attack that has additional knockback.

3. Charge Sword

The Charge Sword's main gimmick is that it can absorb blows by blocking to charge up. Once fully charged, you can perform a charged strike with additional knockback. But this relies on successfully blocking and getting your charged strike to land.
