How long will Fortnite be down? Typical Downtime in Fortnite
Putting an exact number on it is tough because not all patches are the same size. When Fortnite is down, downtimes are usually complete within 90-120 minutes of the servers being taken offline. Season launches may take longer, but that depends on the update's size.
Regarding these Fortnite downtimes, matchmaking is disabled 30 minutes before the update goes live. Once the update is live, the patching process is complete within 90-120 minutes, as mentioned before. However, to play the game, you will have to wait until your system finishes downloading the patch. Once the patch is applied to your game files, you can start queuing up in Fortnite again, provided the servers are live.
