If you're looking to complete your Bug Critterpedia, then we're taking a look at how to catch a flea in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Catching one of these annoying little biters is a bit different than most bugs you encounter! Once you know the trick to it, however, it will be really easy to collect.
How to Catch a Flea
This takes a bit of luck, and you will need to be at least to a point in the game where you're setting up houses for new villagers. Once you've got some of them in your town, you will also need to wait until a specific time period, because fleas will only show up in certain months:
- Northern Hemisphere: April - November
- Southern Hemisphere: October - May
- Active Hours: All Day
Once you are in the right season, make sure to talk to your villagers each day. At some point, they will complain about being itchy. You might even see a small bug around them. Once this happens, you will need to take out your bug net. You need to look away from the villager, because if you press A near them, you might accidentally talk to them. Press and hold the A-button and you will be poised to swing your net. Face the villager with the itchiness issue, and swing your net at them (let go of the A-button)! If you landed it correctly, you should catch yourself a flea! You will also alleviate their itch, so that's an added side-benefit.
Now that you've got your flea, feel free to take it to Blathers or sell it for some quick bells!
