Looks like the next Hearthstone expansion of the year 2020 has possibly been leaked. We don't know a whole lot right now, but we did get a look at the logo and what is likely going to be the named of it. The set will be called, Academy of Scholomance. This is based off of a World of Warcraft dungeon and is a school for prospective necromancers. I'm sure they'll be all sorts of evil things going on in this expansion, so I'm looking forward to checking it out!
What's thought to be patch notes from tomorrow's patch have also been found. It looks like we'll be seeing some of the following:
- Academy of Scholomance Release Date: August 4th, 2020
- A shop addition of some kind is coming on July 22nd, 2020
- A Naxxramas card back will be available by pre-order
- Tess Greymane is being going to be in Battlegrounds
- Some details about the Tavern Pass
- King Mukla and Brann Bronzebeard are returning to Battlegrounds.
- There will be a new Battlegrounds minion called Fusion Troll. It will be a six start minion and each different type of tribe randomly evolves...
- You'll get two free Epic cards, something to do with transferred students
The logo of the expansion was apparently leaked via an Italian website called, Multiplayer.it. On the page you won't find much information, but the logo has been posted:
You can find a larger version of the logo below!
I've covered my fair share of Hearthstone in the past, so it's hard for me to believe that this is a fake. It has all the hallmarks of a Hearthstone developed graphic, and the look and feel of it go together well. The purple coloring also matches the teasers we saw when the Year of the Phoenix was announced:
So, it's more than likely that this is what will be announced on July 14th, 2020!
