How to evolve Combee into Vespiquen in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Get the queen bee herself.

Vespiquen is a Bug and Flying-type Pokémon that evolves from Combee and can be quite powerful early on in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It has a good bulk and can learn a good range of moves, making it a valuable addition to any team. This may leave you wondering how to evolve Combee into Vespiquen in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to get Vespiquen in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To evolve Combee into Vespiquen in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must raise a female Combee to level 21. Combee will only evolve if female, meaning you cannot get a Vespiqeun by leveling up a male Combee. The downside is that males have a spawn chance of 87.5 percent, while females only spawn 12.5 percent of the time. This means you may have to spend some time finding a female Combee.

If you'd rather not try and find a female Combee to evolve, you can find a wild Vespiquen. We have marked the location below, but we found ours in the fields east of Cortondo. When we encountered it, the Vespiquen was level 25.

This may be the easier route, as female Combees have a low spawn rate, similar to the starting Pokémon and Salandit. Catching the Vespiquen will not only guarantee you get the evolved form of Combee but a female one at that.
