How to recalibrate ADS Cannons in Dead Space Remake

This is a very wrong kind of Space Invaders!

Dead Space Remake starts at the beginning of the visceral Dead Space franchise at the place it all started, aboard the planet cracker ship USG Ishimura, where the first known Necromorph outbreak originally began. This remake of a horror classic retains the feeling and charm of what made the original Dead Space such a hit, but besides the graphical polish, it introduced a couple of differences that set them apart. Certain levels and missions are different this time, such as the process of recalibrating the ADS Cannons in Chapter 4 - Obliteration Imminent.

Recalibrating the ADS Cannons in Dead Space Remake Chapter 4

Unlike in the original Dead Space where you had to play a simple mini-game to shoot the incoming asteroids using a stationary turret, the Dead Space Remake will have you exit the ship's interior and recalibrate the ADS Cannons manually. There are three ADS Cannons in total. This is a timed mission, and the Hull Damage meter will drop once you start it. Once it reaches zero, it's game over.

This mission is in a vacuum and zero gravity, but it's pretty linear. Once you get out of the airlock, the first ADS Cannon will be on your left. Disengage your magnetic boots and approach the yellow panel. Activate it and begin marking the flying asteroids.

  • Disengage your magnetic boots and approach the yellow panel.
  • Activate the yellow panel and begin marking the flying asteroids.
  • Aim the Cannon like you would aim your own weapon, either by pressing the L2 button on PS5 or right-clicking the mouse on PC.
  • To shoot the Cannon, press E on PC or X on PS5.
  • Using this method, you must destroy around ten asteroids to calibrate the ADS Cannon successfully.

Once you finish calibrating the first ADS Cannon, head on forward; the second ADS Cannon panel will be on your right side. Repeat the process. The third and final ADS Cannon panel will be on the left side. You will also find the Level 3 Rig Schematic near the panel, so keep your eye out for it. Be careful, as the Necromorph Lurkers will occasionally appear between the cannon panels and shoot you. You will have O2 resupply stations on the corridor's left and right. Use them when you run low on oxygen.
