Hi-Fi Rush – how to complete the drone side quest

Finish those drones!

In Hi-Fi Rush, sometimes you'll run into little breaks from the story. Occasionally, this takes the form of a side quest, such as the one where you have to shoot at pigeons. However, that quest was a piece of cake compared to the drone side quest given at the beginning of Track 5, which tasks the player with finding 10 drones hidden around the first level. Some of the drones are easily spotted, but many are hidden so well that it quickly becomes frustrating.

How to find all of the drones in Hi-Fi Rush

Immediately after accepting the quest from the robot for the drones, head to the opposite side of the platform behind the Peppermint hacked shop. Below, you'll see a hidden platform you can fall down to. From this platform, hitch a ride on the huge floating platforms moving around the cylinder in the center of the room. These will take you to the first two drones.

The first of these drones can be found hiding behind one of the glass cylinder elevator shafts:

To get to it, ride the floating platforms until you reach a safe distance, then use your double jump and dash to make it across. After getting it, jump back onto another platform to get to the second drone.

The second drone will be found floating directly above the Spectra door seen here:

The drone will be found hovering in the center of this platform in front of the door. If you have not completed the game yet, the Spectra door will glow red instead of green.

From here, head back up to the robot platform, then head to the center of the area with the red lighting.

The third drone can be found in this area. It will be floating high above the platform as shown here:

However, this bot is tough to get to. You'll need to find a way to get up to the catwalk it's floating on. The best way to do this is to jump on top of the machine next to the room's entrance that is sitting below the catwalk:

Using this machine, you can jump onto the catwalk and walk around to the drone.

From here, head straight to the first information node area. Take the elevator down and head to the door in front of you. When you first walk in, there will be a hidden area up and to your right:

Head up to the hidden area and use a combo to open the door. Within, you will find a notepad, some boxes, a Kale statue, and one of the drones. Complete the Node in this area to continue.

From here, head to the Node 1 area next. Use Macaron to bust down the door, then head right, hitting the button to activate the path ahead. Above this path, you'll see a magnet pull hook:

Use this hook to jump up to the platform. Here, you'll find another drone along with a golden Kale statue.

From there, head back down and take the door to the series of magnet pull hooks outside. Make your way up to the robot fight and clear it. There will be a large red button, and to the right of that, there will be a path to a Macaron door:

Break down the door and head inside. You'll find some gears and other items along with another drone.

From here, hit the red button and continue toward Node 1. Use the elevator to get up to another robot fight. After clearing it, head to the right to find some platforms and a door:

Head into the door and stay left. Shortly after entering, to the left, there will be another drone floating towards the ceiling. Bring it down and complete the Node 1 area before heading into the side-scrolling section.

In this section, there is a very annoyingly well-hidden drone. After the first set of lasers, do not jump down, as there is a vent above you:

Jump up into the vent to find a secret room with the detective, human resources bots, and another drone. After this, you can complete the side-scroll worry-free, as that was the only drone in that section.

After the side-scrolling section, head down the elevator before heading to the Node 3 area. Complete the node tasks and head up to the final information node with the big red button. The drone is hidden behind this node:

Take down this drone before heading out of the Node 3 area to the next elevator, but do not take the elevator yet. Instead, head to the left and seek out the floating platforms leading to the area with the golden Kale statue:

Use one of the platforms to jump across and the final drone will be straight ahead. Upon gathering the last drone, there will be some dialogue between Chai and the robot that gave the quest. Head back to the robot to turn it in, and you will receive a Life Gauge Piece in return. Honestly, a pretty lackluster reward for the game's most irritating quest, but I guess it's something.
