Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game that has set a new bar on the genre. It ticks all the right boxes with its players, being one of the most played games of the year. It's so popular that it crashed the Steam store on its release day. But the sequel to the popular franchise was released in a less-than-perfect state. Since the game is still in the early access phase, we can expect the developers to keep adding content and patch bugs and glitches in the game in the future. Here's everything we know so far about the developers' plans for Sons of the Forest!
What is the developer's Roadmap for Sons of the Forest?
As of writing this article, there's no official roadmap or statement for Sons of the Forest's development in the future by Endnight Games. Without access to the developer's bigger-picture plans, we currently have no way of knowing what the future holds for Sons of the Forest. The developers didn't leave us entirely in the dark though. A countdown to the next update is displayed in the top right corner of the screen, indicating when the next update will be released for the game. Currently, the next update is set to release on March 9. We have no information on precisely what the patch will introduce.
Since the game's launch, the developers have introduced two hotfixes, fixing minor game issues and introducing the hotkey system. The latter has been a frequently requested feature by the community as an alternative to the hot-swap system, and it's nice to see that developers have heard it. If the previous two hotfixes are anything to go on, the next patch will likely introduce further quality-of-life improvements and game fixes.
