What difficulty levels are in Sons of the Forest?

Before starting a game you will be prompted with four difficulty levels available. After you have chosen the difficulty you cannot change it again for that save file, so you will need to choose the option that suits you best. The difficulties available are Peaceful, Normal, Hard, and Custom.

Peaceful Difficulty

The Peaceful difficulty in Sons of the Forest allows players to enjoy the game without worrying that they will be attacked by any cannibals. When the Peaceful difficulty is chosen, all mutants and cannibals are removed. This makes the game focused more on exploring, crafting, and survival rather than combat.

Normal Difficulty

The Normal difficulty is the perfect balance between the Peaceful and Hard options of the game. You will need to fight for your survival and to be more alert about your surroundings. This is still manageable and it isn't too hard because there are many resources on the map to help you combat the mutants and the cannibals.

Hard Difficulty

The Hard difficulty implies that sources are going to be limited, there are going to be more enemies, and they will deal significantly more damage to you. Being very aware of your surroundings and bringing a friend will help immensely. If you want a challenge and you won't be upset if you die too many times, this mode is for you!

Custom Difficulty

The Custom difficulty in Sons of the Forest is the best option if you want to edit the game to suit your preferences. The setting will allow you to change respawn rates, enemy stats, and starvation rates. If you want to have the best difficulty settings for you, this option is what you're looking for.
