There is a lot of RNG involved in Digimon World Next Order. Eggs have a wide variety of possible Rookie Digimon they can end up as, and even Digivolution is left up to chance... for the most part. Luckily, the gym is there to help players lower the random chance in Digivolution and get the Digivolutions they want.
How to get the right Digivolutions in Digimon World Next Order
First of all, there are six different Digivolution stages in Digimon World Next Order. As opposed to other Digimon games, here, Digivoltuion is determined by age and not combinations or levels. Most Digimon have a lifespan of 22. Here are all of the stages:
- In Training: The initial stage that players first receive
- In Training II: The first Digivolution
- Rookie: This is the first flexible stage. Most of the Digimon in this stage are the popular ones from the show/games (Agumon, Guilmon, etc.).
- Champion: Stage above Rookie, occurs around Age 3
- Ultimate: Stage above Champion, occurs around Age 7
- Mega: Final stage, occurs around Age 10

The issue with Digivolution that beginners might not know is that it's not a simple matter of watching the Digimon grow to get their Digivolutions. Every Digimon has key points or stat benchmarks that they will have to meet to get to the specific Digivolution. Without meeting these key points, players may have their Digimon evolve into something totally unintended.
These are all of the stats players will need to look out for:
- HP
- MP
- Strength
- Stamina
- Wisdom
- Speed
- Weight
- TF
- Bonds
- Victories
- Key Digimon
These key points will be invisible to the player at first. For this reason, it is highly advised to invite Antylamon to the Digivolution Dojo, as Antylamon can tell a Digimon's Key Points. Antylamon can be found in the Guts Waste.
