Do you hate it when your artistic bohemian Sim starts flirting with a materialistic snob? Now that can be remedied with a feature added in The Sims 4 Growing Together Expansion Pack. Sim Characteristics are part of a like/dislike system that lets your Sim have preferences for certain personality traits of other Sims. Here's all of them!
Sims 4 Growing Together - All Sim Characteristics
It's important when choosing Sim Characteristics to remember this is in the Likes and Dislikes panel. That is to say, you are choosing which of these characteristics your Sim likes/dislikes in other Sims; this is not choosing your Sim's personal traits. Here are all of the characteristics your Sim can weigh in on:
- Ambitionless Sims
- Argumentative Sims
- Cerebral Sims
- Egotistical Sims
- Emotional Decision-Makers
- Family-Motivated Sims
- Funny Sims
- Hard-Working Sims
- High Energy Sims
- Homebody Sims
- Idealist Sims
- Nature Enthusiasts
- Optimistic Sims
- Pessimistic Sims
- Pet Enthusiasts
- Rascals
- Romance Enthusiasts
- Spirited Sims

What do Sim Characteristics do?
Sim Characteristics are a way beyond Traits to give detail to your Sims' personality preferences. The selections you make will especially influence how your Sim interacts with other Sims who possess certain Traits. For example, a Sim with the Optimistic Sims positive preference will likely not get along with a Sim who has the Gloomy personality trait.
How to use Sim Characteristics
It can be hard to find the Sim Characteristics option within your game, as they are tucked away within another setting. At the top left of your screen in Create-a-Sim, look for the small hexagon that sits below your Sim's Aspiration. Then, click on it and choose Sim Characteristics with the puzzle icon. Choose the ones you'd like and then continue finishing your creations in CAS.
