What happens if you kill the Merchant in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

Sometimes we all want to re-enact the Terminator 1 gun shop scene!

Weapons, ammo, and other valuable items are for sale in Resident Evil 4 Remake, and this timeb the famous Merchant makes a return for your money. He is an NPC you go to when you need to repair your gear, sell your treasures, and buy weapons and ammo. Such a character is valuable, so it would be a shame if something happened to him. But since you can only find him in the safer zones of the game, the players have been wondering: can you even kill him?

Can the Merchant be killed in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

There is no way for you to kill the Merchant in Resident Evil 4 Remake. If you try firing a gun at him, the game's built-in mechanic will kick in, and Leon will quickly raise the weapon, preventing you from firing and harming him.

Using explosives may have crossed your mind since they can do damage indirectly without having to aim at the Merchant. We tried that already, to no avail. Throwing grenades at him doesn't do any harm. Instead, he will seem staggered by the explosion. Additionally, there will be a small In Combat icon when you hover over him, and you won't be able to access his trade menu during his shaken state.

Killing a Merchant may not be an option in the game; however, if you still want to express your disdain at his exorbitant prices, there is a trophy you can get for never speaking to him during your playthrough.
