Can you get the Chicago Typewriter in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

I believe you, but me Tommy Gun don't!

Resident Evil 4 Remake features a lot of weapons that make their comeback from the original. The Chicago Typewriter is one such weapon. It was a secret gun, unlockable after completing specific missions from additional game content. It was an excellent weapon with a serious damage output and a fast rate of fire. Such attributes made it desirable for players on their runs, so naturally, we have all been wondering: can you get it in the Resident Evil 4 Remake as well?

Resident Evil 4 Remake Chicago Typewriter - Is it in the game?

The Chicago Typewriter technically isn't featured in the Resident Evil 4 Remake; instead, it has been replaced with the Chicago Sweeper. On the lid, it appears that it's the same weapon in all but the name; however, that isn't the case. Differences between the two weapons exist in their stats and how you obtain them.

While the good old Chicago Typewriter had potent weapon stats and unlimited ammunition, the new Chicago Sweeper has underwhelming stats. You can only make it as good as its predecessor from the glory days by upgrading the weapon. However, this will take both resources and time.

How can you unlock the Chicago Sweeper in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

To unlock the Chicago Sweeper in Resident Evil 4 Remake, You have to beat the game on Professional difficulty with an A rank. You unlock the Professional difficulty by beating the game once on any level. And to accomplish the second condition of getting an A rank, you need to beat the game in seven hours. Finishing the storyline on the highest difficulty level in less than seven hours requires extensive game knowledge and skill. Still, thankfully the New Game+ option offers you to prepare for the run, stocking up on weapon upgrades and other necessities to make it as smooth as possible.
