Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a sequel to a widely successful giant, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which introduced new gameplay and tone to the Star Wars series of games. Newcomers to this short series must wonder where the nascent Jedi knight Cal Kestis hails from and what his mission is in this epic title. What is the Star Wars Jedi Survivor plot?
The plot of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor centers on a young Jedi Knight, Cal Kestis, on his mission to restore the Jedi Order and bring down the Galactic Empire. Cal is now a wanted fugitive, with his face known across the galaxy. Our protagonist is in open rebellion against the Empire, wanting to wreak havoc and disrupt the system in any way he knows how.
After a failed mission on Coruscant, during which his ship, Mantis, gets badly damaged while escaping, Cal makes an emergency stop at the planet Koboh. There, he begins to unearth ancient secrets of the Jedi Order back from the era of the High Empire.
Following the events of the previous game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the story picks up roughly five years later, only nine years before the famous Battle of Yavin and the events in the first Star Wars movie ever. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a beautiful game but carries a dark streak, as our beloved hero experiences loss from very early on. During the events that unfold, we will see his coming-of-age story, dealing with the big burden he must carry and how carefully he tethers on the balance of the Light Side of the Force.
