The Triforce is a sacred relic in the Legend of Zelda series. It is split into three triangle pieces representing Courage, Wisdom, and Power. This item can control all of Hyrule, allowing the user to shape reality and fulfill their desires, making it Ganondorf's most desired item. Link commonly seeks the Triforce to protect it and thwart Ganondorf's evil plans.

Hylia, a younger goddess introduced in Skyward Sword, was tasked with protecting the Triforce and guiding the people of Hyrule. Hylia sacrificed her divinity when the forces of evil under Demise attacked, and she was reincarnated as a mortal through Zelda. This would begin the reincarnation cycle, with Link representing courage, Zelda representing wisdom, and Ganondorf representing power.
