Honkai Star Rail Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 1) puzzle solutions

Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 1) is the first of three Adventure Missions that tell the story of a mysterious child named Cyrille who seems to exist as an anomaly in the Fragmentum. During the quest, you need to solve a series of puzzles called The Fool's Box, which involves moving boxes to create a path to rescue the children. I found this Mission's story to be really interesting, and while the puzzles are simple at first, they become more challenging later on.

How to unlock Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 1) Mission in Honkai Star Rail

To unlock the Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 1) Adventure Mission, you first need to meet the following prerequisites:

• Reach Trailblaze level 18 or above.
• Complete the "Lying in Rust" Trailblaze Mission.

Once you've completed the above, a Mission marker will appear in Backwater Pass, allowing you to experience your first encounter with Cyrille.

Head to Backwater Pass and approach the Mission marker (circled above) to find the Mysterious Girl. Talk to her to begin Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 1). Once that's done, approach the armored boxes to begin the first puzzle.

The Fool's Box puzzle solution #1

The first puzzle is an introduction to The Fool's Box mechanics, so it's fairly simple. Simply interact with the box above to Push it forward. Doing so will create a space for the child to pass.

Once you've completed the above, interact with the child to Rescue her. This completes the first puzzle. A Bountiful Chest will appear beside the Mysterious Girl, which you can loot for rewards.

After looting the Treasure Chest, talk to the Mysterious Girl once again. She'll introduce herself as Cyrille. More armored boxes will spawn, prompting the second puzzle.

The Fool's Box puzzle solution #2

Start by Pushing the crate pictured above so that it moves to the right.

Next, Push the crate pictured above so that it moves to the left. Doing so will create enough space for both children to pass. You must interact with each child to Rescue them. Once that's done, you'll be rewarded with another Bountiful Treasure. Speak to the Mysterious Girl one last time to complete this segment.

Head northwest of Boulder Town to find Sampo and speak to him. Then, return to the Mysterious Girl's location in Backwater Pass, only to find that she has disappeared. You'll be left with a note and more mysteries to uncover. The quest continues in Vessel of Mediocrity (Part 2), where you'll learn more about Cyrille and solve more puzzles.
