Like many other tower-defense-style experiences, the main objective of Eternal Tower Defense is to defend against waves of enemies using an all-star lineup of characters from various animes and mangas. Unlike many other similar experiences though, Eternal Tower Defense is actually playable on console, and has specific controls that make it compatible with multiple devices, including Xbox, PS4, and PS5.

- Right stick - Move
- Left stick - Camera
- ⬆ - Slot 1 Tower
- âž¡ - Slot 2 Tower
- ⬇ - Slot 3 Tower
- ⬅ - Slot 4 Tower
- L1 / RB - Slot 5 Tower
- R1 / LB - Slot 6 Tower
- L2 / LT - Run
- R2 / RT - Place
- Square / X - Upgrade
- Circle / B - Sell
- Square / Y - Change Target

- WASD or arrow keys - Movement keys
- W + Shift - Dash
- Spacebar - Jump
- Play button - Select mode and begin
- Inventory button - Open inventory

- Shop button - Open in-game shop
- Eternal Pass button - Open Eternal Pass progress menu
- ` - Open hotbar
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - Select and use skills from the hotbar
