Best ways to earn coins in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2

The new shop in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 has only six cars available for purchase at a time. If you want to grow your collection, you will have to wait long hours for the shop to show the cars that you like or spend a lot of coins to force a refresh. So here are a few tips on how to earn money faster, and how to save it.

There is a lot of money to be made by completing the campaign Hot Wheels Creature Rampage. Not only as a direct reward but playing through the story mode will also give you upgrade tokens that can be used instead of coins and therefore, save you some money.

Following up on the previous item, don't spend your coins on upgrade tokens or skill points. At least not at first, since the story mode will reward you with plenty of those. I saved my cash to purchase vehicles and refresh the shop whenever I needed. Only once I had acquired every car I wanted, then I began spending it all on upgrades.

Online Multiplayer in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2

In the first entry of the series (Hot Wheels Unleashed), the best way to make money was online multiplayer. If you chose the shortest possible track —generally a custom made —you were able to earn a lot from a race that lasted under a minute. However with the loading screens in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, there are other ways to earn coins faster. Having said that, if you still want to give it a try, you should always pick the shortest track since the size of the rewards doesn't scale up with the length of the event.

Quick events in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2

The fastest way of making money in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is the quick events. It isn't the most fun, since you would have to play the same track over and over again, but if you are looking to buy a car that just appeared in the shop, this is the best way. Do as follows:

  • Lower the difficulty to the minimum, since you want to be able to win even if you make mistakes.
  • Choose a quick race.
  • Pick the shortest track in terms of lap time. I recommend track 01 of the Mini Golf environment since it can be completed in 2 minutes.
  • Choose your fastest car and win the race.
  • Collect the reward of 1500 coins.
  • Rinse and repeat

With that, making 1500 coins every 5 or so minutes, you can keep refreshing the shop and buying any vehicles you like.
