How to operate the drive valve to open the passage leading to the Geode Mine Shaft in Genshin Impact

The Genshin Impact An Eye for an Eye World Quest is rife with puzzles. When you manage to sneak past the guards and enter the Abandoned Production Zone, you'll have to figure out a way to operate the drive valve to find the entrance to the Geoge Mine Shaft, where you can make a bold escape from the Fortress of Meropide.

While you might remember the drive valve from a previous encounter in the Unfinished Comedy quest series, the puzzle now requires a different solution.

Upon heading to the Abandoned Production Zone, head to the center of the clearing (reference the mini-map for the exact location). You'll find the drive valve, which you must control to open the locked gate. I strongly recommend turning on your quest navigator to make it easier to determine the location of the locked gates.

Interact with the blue machine beside the drive valve to Run it, as pictured above. Doing so will change your point of view to a bird's eye view of the rotating valve.

The valve will rotate on its own. Wait for the long handle to point to the upper right, which will take about five rotations. If your quest navigator is turned on, the sparkling spots will indicate where the handle must be pointing. As soon as the handle is pointing to the upper right, click Stop to exit the valve view and open the gate up ahead, completing the objective.

Before moving forward, make sure to interact with the center of the drive valve to Remove Gear Drivetrain. You need to have it in your inventory to solve the next puzzle.

After getting the Gear Drivetrain, head further into the passage by crossing the gate that just unlocked. It's located in the northern part of the room, so reference the mini-map if you're unsure of which gate to enter.

Follow the path forward to enter another room with a puzzle. Interact with the mechanism at the center of the room to Install Gear Drivetrain.

After installing the Gear Drivetrain, interact with the blue lamp beside the central valve to pick it up. Then, head toward the red mechanism at the side and stand very close to it. Then, place the blue lamp beside it using the special interaction button (see the bottom of your screen for the exact control for your device).

Doing so will prompt the blue lamp to power up the red mechanism, likewise turning it blue. Interact with the now-blue mechanism to Run it.

Wait for the central valve to rotate until it's pointing toward the gate. Once it's pointing at the gate, immediately interact with the blue mechanism again to Stop it from running. The gate will promptly open, revealing a passage.

From here, simply enter the gate and follow the path forward to enter the Geoge Mine Shaft, where you can complete the last leg of the World Quest.
