Only the strongest can wield them!

You can take several different approaches to fighting in Lords of the Fallen, which are determined by what gear and weapons you wield. If you're going for full brute strength, you will want the best strength weapons possible.

While you can come across most of the best weapons by progressing through the story and fighting bosses, you'll want to keep an extra close eye on heavy weapons specifically catered toward strength. Here is a list of some of the very best we've come across.

Lords of the Fallen Best Heavy Weapons Guide

Weapons that are better for strength builds are also some of the heaviest weapons you can wield in the game. They focus more on slow hits that deal significant damage rather than being light and fast. Most weapons you'll want to use for strength will specifically show a ranking for strength in their stats. You can find some in various ways.

Crushing Gaze

Crushing Gaze is a hefty grand hammer made out of what appears to be decomposing eyeballs. It has an E rating for strength, which is not the best, but it makes up for it with its Wither effect with each successful hit. It only requires a strength of 15 to use, making it a great starting point for your strength build.

How to get Crushing Gaze in Lords of the Fallen

Crushing Gaze is found in the Upper Calrath area within an Umbral Belly. You must be in the Umbral Realm and use Soulflay to loot it.

Resh-Mesah's Sword

The Resh-Mesah's Sword is a grand sword, only requiring 15 Strength, making it a good starting point, much like the Crushing Gaze hammer. However, this D- ranked strength weapon still has a high physical damage stat and excels in providing some extra mobility along with its power. In fact, you'll need 25 Agility to wield it as well.

How to get the Resh-Mesah's Sword in Lords of the Fallen

The Resh-Mesah's Sword is located in a loot spot on the ramparts where you get shot down into the Congregator of Flesh cave. After defeating the Congregator, you can circle back up to the ramparts and find a body with the loot spot on top of it.

Taxidermist's Hammer

The Taxidermist's Hammer is a grand hammer crafted from human remains, said to be made by the town's taxidermist who was killed on the spot upon being seen with the hammer, and thus, what gave it its title. This grotesque hammer is a mighty weapon, requiring a whopping 25 strength to wield and an 18 inferno skill. On top of its high physical stats, it adds in wither to really stack up the damage.

How to get the Taxidermist's Hammer in Lords of the Fallen

After encountering the Lightreaper in Fitzroy's Gorge, you will enter a cellar area to progress to Lower Calrath. In this cellar, right before the entrance to Lower Calrath, you can find the Taxidermist's Hammer in a loot spot.

Proselyte Sword

Though the Proselyte Sword looks less menacing and bulky than the other strength-based weapons, this is definitely a strong contender. It has a C- ranking in strength with a requirement of 19 to wield it. Its defining feature is its fire effects, which not only cause fire damage and physical damage but also provide a 100 burn effect with each successful hit.

The Proselyte Sword can be obtained through random drops from any of the Proselyte enemies.

Scale-Breaker

The Scale-Breaker grand hammer is one of the coolest-looking hammers in the game, with a sleek, almost Thor-like quality to it. It is also one that is all about physical damage, and it excels at it, with a whopping 172 attack power. It will require a 26 in strength to wield but, surprisingly, doesn't weigh as much as some.

How to get the Scale-Breaker in Lords of the Fallen

The Scale-Breaker hammer can be found in the Lower Calrath area, soon after activating the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch. Within the burning houses, descend to the lower levels to obtain the hammer through a loot spot.

Marco's Axe

Marco's Axe is another one of the grotesque umbral-styled heavy weapons once used by a past lampbearer, Marco the Axe. Despite not having any special effects, this axe has high attack power between its wither and physical and only weighs 20.9, very unlike its other heavy weapon contenders. It will require a 20 in strength to wield.

How to get Marco's Axe in Lords of the Fallen

After fighting the Bringer of Silence and Bringer of Nullity in the Cistern, you can obtain Marco's Axe within an Umbral Belly in the area by using Soulflay while in the Umbral Realm.

Pale Butcher's Blade

If you prefer swords over axes and hammers, then the Pale Butcher's Blade is a great heavy weapon for strength builds. Similar to the other Umbral-styled weapons, it does wither damage along with physical to build up attack power, totaling 155 overall. It will, however, require high strength and agility to wield: 25 strength and 20 agility.

How to get Pale Butcher's Blade in Lords of the Fallen

The Pale Butcher's Blade can be obtained as a loot item in the Forsaken Fen area. Past the large bonfire area, continue onto the wooden walkways, a village-like area, until you see a hut made out of pointy sticks. Inside, you'll find a Shuja Warrior and the loot spot on the ground.

Hushed Saint's Halberd

The Hushed Saint's Halberd is not only an epic-looking weapon to wield, but it is better for players who care a bit more about defensive-style play. It's great for hitting enemies with its long reach while staying at a safer distance. While it is slightly lower in attack power than some other contenders, it provides a 150 poison effect with each successful hit.

With the Hushed Saint's Remembrance, the Hushed Saint's Halberd can be purchased from Molhu at Skyrest Bridge.

Ancestor's Sword

The Ancestor's Sword is another mighty grand sword that is all about the high physical damage that makes up all the attack power for the weapon, totaling 164. It requires a 25 strength skill to use. Unfortunately, it is also one of the heaviest of the grand sword, making it much slower to swing and dodge, which is why it probably ranks as a D in strength overall.

How to get the Ancestor's Sword in Lords of the Fallen

The Ancestor's Sword can be obtained in the Fief of the Chill Curse as a loot item. From the Vestige of Loash, follow the path back toward the city and you'll see the loot spot beside a closed gate and wheelbarrow.

Kinrahgr Guardian Axe

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The Kinrahgr Guardian Axe is one of the more slender of the grand axes and hammers but no less deadly. This heavy weapon still has 135 attack power but weighs less, making it more nimble. It also has a status effect of 150 ice with successful hits. You will need a strength of 20 and an agility of 17 to wield it.

How to get the Kinrahgr Guardian Axe in Lords of the Fallen

You can obtain the Kinrahgr Guardian Axe by defeating Kinrahgr Guardians and picking it up from their random drops, or by a small percent drop chance from the Kinrahgr Guardian Folard boss.

These are just a few of the best weapons to use as a strength build, with some of the best high attack powers and damage. However, there are plenty of others to find and try around the world and from the NPC shops, so keep your eyes peeled as you progress.
