Will there be a Destiny 3?

What's after The Final Shape?

Destiny 2 is one of the most popular FPS games due to its rich lore and dedicated fan base. So, is there going to be a Destiny 3?

When is Destiny 3 coming out?

With The Final Shape already announced and nearing release, many players, including myself, have been wondering if there will be a Destiny 3 after this. Theoretically, this could work, considering that Destiny 2 has faced a challenging year with historically low player numbers due to delays and mass layoffs. This could give Bungie a clean slate to start over and reinvigorate the players. However, the possibility of Destiny 3 coming out anytime soon is not realistic.

In my opinion, Bungie has invested too much in Destiny 2. With the release of Destiny 3, they will allocate all their resources to the new game, which will disappoint players and ultimately lead to the demise of Destiny 2, with no new content being released

After the release of The Final Shape, I am confident that we will experience a full year of Destiny 2 content, as indicated by the roadmap revealed some time ago. This will give Bungie plenty of time to regain their footing before considering a new game.

This, however, does not mean that Destiny 2 won't release any quality gameplay updates. When most players refer to Destiny 3, they are actually referring to an engine upgrade or optimization updates that will enhance and refine the existing Destiny 2 game.

This is a real possibility and a good strategy, in my opinion. Giving players what they want without having to build a new game from scratch will benefit not only Bungie but also the players.
