The matchmaking error in LEGO mode is related to the network connectivity issue, meaning it appears when there's a Fortnite server outage or you're experiencing a connection error. If the issue is not on your end, there are a few things you can try to potentially resolve the problem:

Check the Fortnite server status

Fortnite servers sometimes encounter problems that affect connectivity. While server outages are rare, game developers sometimes intentionally take them offline for maintenance. In such cases, you should verify the Fortnite server status before trying any troubleshooting steps. I also recommend keeping an eye on the game's official Twitter handle to check whether an update is right around the corner.

Restart your WiFi router

If the Fortnite LEGO servers are online, I recommend restarting your internet router to fix any connectivity-related issues, including the matchmaking error code. To start off, unplug your router switch and keep it unplugged for about two minutes. After that, plug the router’s switch and reboot Fortnite to fix the issue.

Change DNS settings

Sometimes, the default DNS settings can be slow or unreliable, leading to issues with Fortnite servers. To modify your DNS settings, you can follow these steps:

  1. In the Windows search bar, type in Network.
  2. Click the best match at the top, which will be Network Status.
  3. Click on the Change connection properties.
  4. Scroll down to where it says IP Settings, but first, take note of the numbers that appear to your right; there'll be a set of two sets of 4 numbers, for example, 12.5.2.9. Write these numbers down! For you to be able to change it back if this solution does not work for you.
  5. Click on the Edit button and where it mentions Preferred DNS.

It is recommended to use a fast and reliable DNS server for gaming, such as Google's 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, or Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1.

Contact Epic Games support

If none of the above methods work, contacting Epic Games support may be your only chance to fix the problem. The support team can check the log files to find out why your system is not connecting well with the console servers. To submit a support ticket, go to this link and sign in with your Epic account.
