It can take a while to progress through all the ranks, as there are so many. However, you can do so quickly by getting eliminations and surviving as long as possible. You will earn points toward your next rank for each elimination you get or if you dealt enough damage to an individual before they were downed (when playing with duos or squads). Eliminations you get toward the endgame, the last few player's last standing, will earn you increased points.

It's not always best to play aggressively in Fortnite Ranked unless you're extremely confident. Sometimes, you'll want to play a bit slower; make sure you're well-geared up and survive as long as possible before going after players and earning those eliminations, especially because those eliminations will earn you more points.

You can keep track of your rank and progress on the right side of your screen in the lobby. You'll start as Unranked until you play your first game and are placed in a rank based on your performance. From there, you will begin to climb up the ranks by earning points. The icon on the side of the screen will change for each rank symbol and show your progress toward the next rank in a meter.

Can you still progress ranks in Duos or Squads in Fortnite Ranked?

If you're playing with friends or squad up with others while playing Fortnite Ranked, don't worry; you will still earn points towards your next rank. All players in a duo or squad will receive the same amount of points based on the team's overall performance. You will queue based on the highest player's rank so that everything remains fair.

Don't be afraid to jump in and start competing for ranks. Every time you queue, you will be matched with the same or similar ranked players to yourself, so it will always be fair and challenge you to perform and grow better. See how far you can progress!
