The best wyvern for PvP is Lightning Wyvern, thanks to their colossal damage output. However, they are suited for more experienced players and they're all but useless in PvE because their breath attack is dangerous for you and your tamed creatures. The second best in PvP is Poison Wyvern, thanks to its ability to kill any rider instantly without a mask. The problem with these wyverns is that their attacks are very difficult to aim from the air.

Best Wyvern for PvE in ARK Survival Ascended

Hands down, the best wyvern for PvE is Ice Wyvern. It has more range than Fire Wyvern, and it has slowdown effect that makes up for the lesser damage output. The second best is Fire Wyvern. Their damage is decent, and they are especially efficient against regular Alpha Wyverns, because all regular wyverns in Alpha phase are fire type, and Fire Wyverns are immune to fire breath.
