Time to fly!

Getting around the map can be exhausting in LEGO Fortnite, but it's now less so with the addition of the Launch Pad. Here's how you can make one and use it to get around much easier!

The Launch Pad was added to LEGO Fortnite with the v.28.10 patch, providing a brand-new way to get around the map. However, if you're hoping to use it in your Survival world, you'll first need to ensure you have your Village Square upgraded to Level 7+ for it to become available in your Toys Build menu. Once you do, here's how to make one:

All Launch Pad Ingredients and where to get them in LEGO Fortnite

The Launch Pad will not be an easy build to make in Survival mode; it will require quite a few precious ingredients.

  • Flexwood x8 - Cut down Cacti in the Dry Valley using a Rare Axe or greater
  • Copper Bar x4 - Mine Copper in Lava Caves in the Dry Valley using a Rare Pickaxe or greater, then use a Metal Smelter to turn it into Copper Bars
  • Silk Fabric x1 - Harvest Spider Webs from Spiders, turn them into Silk Thread x5 on a Spinning Wheel, and then with your five Silk Thread, you can make one Silk Fabric on a Loom

When you have all the ingredients required, place the Launch Pad down through your Build menu, located under the Toys tab. You can place it on any flat surface around the map, whether that be on the floor or the ground, but you'll want it in an open space where you can fly up into the air.

Best way to use a Launch Pad in LEGO Fortnite

Since the Launch Pad provides a way to get around the map quicker, you're definitely going to want to put it to good use. While it works perfectly fine anywhere on the ground, allowing you to jump up to mountain and canyon tops more easily, the best way I found to use it is much like how we use it in Team Rumble or Battle Royale:

I built a bunch of stairs, going as high as I could, placed a floor at the top, and then set the Launch Pad on the landing at the top. By creating a higher elevated platform for the Launch Pad, I will travel much farther when I jump on it.

To maximize this even further, you will want to use a Glider as you jump. You can make a Glider on a Rare Crafting Table in the Equipment section. You will just need Flexwood x8, Wool Fabric x4, and Silk Fabric x6.

Equip your Glider in your Inventory, and it will be placed in your Equipment bar, along with any Charms you have on. With the Glider equipped, hop on your raised Launch Pad and deploy your Glider using A on the controller or Spacebar on the PC. You will soar for miles, depending on how high you placed your stairs.

There are so many other ways you can get creative with the Launch Pad: placing it on Dynamic Foundations, making vehicles with it, and more. No matter how you use it, it will definitely be an asset for traveling.
