How to fix Destiny 2 error code bat

If you're like me, you probably sat down to check out a brand new Destiny 2 update but faced yet another error code. This time, it's the Destiny 2 error code bat. This error occurs due to a general networking issue, as described by Bungie. However, this may lead you to believe that the error is on your end, which is hardly ever the case.

Destiny 2 is a fully online game, and the internet can sometimes be unreliable, considering Destiny 2's shaky track record with stability. Before attempting to resolve the bat error, I highly recommend checking the Destiny 2 server status page as there may be a planned or unplanned outage. If this is the case, then you have no option but to wait it out. If it isn't and your PC or internet is having issues, you should:

  • Restart
    • Sometimes, turning it off and back on really does the job. I recommend you restart both your PC and your internet.
  • Check for updates
    • Destiny 2 may have a quick hotfix out to fix your problems for you. You should also check for any PC updates via both Windows Update and your PC manufacturer's website in case your hardware giving you issues.

  • Check your Firewall
    • While this is rare, an update to your PC may have hindered your game's connection to the internet. So, open up the Start menu and type in Allow an app through the Windows Firewall, where you can scroll down to see if Destiny 2 got checked off somehow.
  • Internet
    • If you're connected to a VPN, you may want to disconnect and try again. If not, try a different internet connection such as your mobile hotspot to power up the game.

If none of these steps did it for you, and you're still facing issues after confirming the Destiny 2 servers aren't down, then I suggest you get in touch with Bungie's support, as they may be able to help you with any issues on their side which may be affecting you.
