Helldivers 2 continues to dominate sales charts, holding strong as #2 best seller

Helldivers 2 is still going strong as the game is dominating the US sales charts ranking second in April, keeping the same position from March. The game has outsold many notable titles including Modern Warfare 3 and Sea of Thieves.

This was shared by Mat Piscatella, Executive Director and Industry Advisor at Circana, who detailed everything about the top-selling games in the US. Alongside Helldivers 2's strong position in the charts, Arrowhead's title remains the best-selling premium game of the year to date. Additionally, the game carried over its second-place rank from March despite dollar sales in April falling by more than 70% (compared to March). For the month of April, PlayStation exclusive Stellar Blade is the top-selling title, and just below Helldivers 2 is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Helldivers 2 has been a hit on PlayStation no doubt as the game is still in the top 10 ranking for active PlayStation users at fifth for April (gaining from sixth in March). Moreover, it topped the charts for active users on Steam in April as well. It's still unclear whether it'll be at the top in May after the PSN account linking controversy earlier this month, though Sony moved back on this decision. It'll definitely be interesting to see whether it stays on top or goes down by a place or two.

It's easy to see why Helldivers 2 has been topping sales charts as the game is just pure mindless fun; taking down bugs and robots solo and with friends is just plain addictive, while the visuals and gunplay are the cherry on the top.
