How to join a game in Bodycam

Bodycam is a multiplayer FPS in which you play with and compete against players on various maps and game modes. Some players are reportedly having trouble figuring out how to join a game and start a match; so here's a quick guide on how to do so.

The best way to ready up in Bodycam is by joining an active server. For this, click on the Start Match button in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. This will take you to the above-shown screen with three options: Host Map, Join Server, and Quickplay. Select the Join Server tab and it'll take you to a list of active servers across the globe.

From the list, you can see which servers the match has just started and is already in progress. All you need to do here is click on any server you want to join and the game will put you in that match. You can also sort the servers based on their latency by the toggle bar on top (see image). I like this method of joining a game in Bodycam as I get to choose what map, mode, and ping I'll be playing on. You can also try Quickplay, but it will put you into a random game mode on a random map; I've also noticed that sometimes it takes too long to connect.

Another way to ready up and join a game in Bodycam is by hosting a map, which is preferable when you're playing with friends. Simply select the Host Map option and choose your desired game mode and map, for instance, Body Bomb on Tumblewood. Invite your friends to the lobby, wait for them to join your server, and enjoy the session.

In case you want to allow random players to join your match, go back to the home screen and select the Lobby tab. Go to Options and change Lobby Access to Public (see image). You can also give a name to your lobby if you want on the same screen.

Being an ultra-realistic game built on Unreal Engine 5, Boydcam is very graphically demanding. Furthermore, the game is a multiplayer first-person shooter; hence should draw out as much frame rate as possible from your rig.
