LEGO Fortnite v30.40 patch notes: Fast travel, new toys, & outfit styles

Bus Stations are here!

Although the next massive Fortnite update (Chapter 6) is far away, the game will continue getting content drops as the developers keep adding new stuff and making improvements. On August 6, LEGO Fortnite is getting the v30.40 patch that'll add new toys, outfit styles, a fast travel feature, and much more.

Fortnite LEGO Bus Station for fast travel

With this update, you'll be able to use the Battle Bus fast travel network to transit from one biome/region to the other in a flash. This will be possible via the new Bus Stations, which will already be there in your world. You can destroy an existing Bus Station for Rift Shards and then use the ingredient to build a new one at your preferred spot.

The v30.40 patch also adds the ability to change world settings (until now players had to create a new world to change settings). This is a well-appreciated quality-of-life improvement and you can find more details on it below.

Every setting except your mode (Cozy, Survival, Sandbox, Expert) and Player Elimination can be changed. Just a few heads-up:

  • This doesn’t apply to the locked settings in Expert mode.
  • If you turn off Enemies (including Storm-Wild Enemies), the existing ones will remain until you defeat them or leave the area.
  • If you turn off Friendly Creatures or Villagers, the existing ones will remain until you leave the area.
Fortnite LEGO Activated Balloon toy

If you've been wanting to get your hands on some new toys in LEGO Fortnite, the wait is over as the upcoming content drop is adding four new items: Pressure Plate, Trigger Plate, Activated Balloon Small, and Activated Balloon Large.

  • Pressure Plate: A button you can put pressure on to turn on channels. The button needs to stay down to work!
  • Trigger Plate: Another button you can put pressure on to turn on channels. Unlike a Pressure Plate, the button doesn’t have to stay down. (Remember that Thrusters will eventually turn off on their own!)
    • Unlock the recipe for a Trigger Plate by adding Blast Powder to your inventory.
  • Activated Balloon Small: A small balloon that comes uninflated. Inflate it using channel control! (Perhaps a Pressure or Trigger Plate will work?)
    • Unlock the recipe for an Activated Balloon Small by crafting a Loom.
  • Activated Balloon Large: The same thing as an Activated Balloon Small, but bigger. (Woah.)
    • Unlock the recipe for an Activated Balloon Large by crafting a Loom.
Fortnite LEGO Captains Battlement build

The update also brings new LEGO styles for five pre-existing outfits in the game: Abyss, Antheia, The Cube Queen, Ember, and Indiana Jones. Furthermore, you'll be able to purchase the Pirate Lifestyle Bundle from the shop for 1,000 V-Bucks. This bundle includes the Captain's Battlement LEGO Kit, Captain's Cabin Decor Bundle, and Seaport Style Decor Bundle.

Another special mention in the LEGO Fortnite v30.40 patch notes is the addition of two new vehicle builds called the Kart Racer and Offroad Flyer. The game will now also have Codex, a logbook that will contain information and track progress on everything you've discovered. Below are some other minor improvements coming with the update.

Map Improvements

  • You can zoom out much farther on the world map and pan across your entire world.
  • When using a controller, you’ll have a virtual cursor to control the map with.
  • You can ping the map, which will drop a marker in the world to help with your travels!

UI Updates

  • Always wanted to carry more stuff? v30.40 increases your inventory to 32 slots!
  • Filter items in the Build menu by theme or Set to quickly find what you’re looking for.
  • Name your worlds and Villages whatever you like! Please follow the Epic Games Community Rules when creating your own names.
